Photoshoot with Olaf Wiehler

Photoshoot with Olaf Wiehler

A couple of months ago I was browsing Facebook and stumbled upon a post by German photographer Olaf Wiehler. He was scheduled to visit Warsaw and he was looking for actors and models to pose for portraits next to brutalist architecture. I was intrigued. As someone who enjoys walking around the city and admiring its history and architecture, I knew this opportunity was for me! We connected and I showed him some brutalist buildings in Warsaw for him to consider. Eventually, we settled with Młotek, a well-known brutalist construction from 1976. The top of this building reminded me of a hat, and since I like hats a lot, I proposed to Olaf that we take some pics with a hat. Mind you, I offered him a lot of hats to choose from, and he went with one of my favorites. Here you can see one of the resulting photos.

Thanks to Olaf’s generosity, the portrait photoshoot turned into a full-fledged photoshoot for my portfolio. He is definitely the top photographer I’ve ever worked with. In addition to offering portraits for actors and artists, he is also an acclaimed general photographer, who often showcases his photos in art galleries. I invite readers to check out his website as well as his Instagram accounts: @olafwiehler.art (for general photography) and @olafwiehler.portraits (for portraits). Needless to say, if you are an actor or artist, I also strongly encourage you to reach out to him to book a photoshoot to enhance your portfolio! He is based in Munich but is readily available across much of Germany. You may also catch him traveling to interesting locations!
